Telepsychiatry as a Public Health Imperative: Slowing COVID-19

Contents

Summary

This study examines how the COVID-19 pandemic affected young people experiencing psychosis and the early intervention services designed to support them. While telehealth increased service accessibility, treatment outcomes for first-episode psychosis were slightly less effective compared to pre-pandemic levels. The findings emphasize the importance of adapting telehealth for vulnerable populations and preparing mental health systems for future global crises.
